I won Second Place and $150.00 in the Blue Mountain Arts poetry contest! (Rawr!) It's exciting to win something. I was very happy to get the news, since I've been having a low-poetry-self-esteem time of it lately. But I've been somewhat brought out of my slump by this acknowledgment, and also, going to the Monday night poetry open mics at Casa D'Italia, which are marvelous; as everyone is really kind and claps and hoots (in a good way) and really gets into it, and one is surrounded by super-talented singers and writers so it makes you want to be the best writer you can be.
Work is so crazy this month, I can't even tell you, but I will get back to my regularly erratic posting schedule soon. In the meantime, if you want to read my poem, you can find it here: (The other ones are amazing; read those, too!)

Congratulations!
Hoot, hoot, hoot!
(You're talking about me hooting in the audience, aren't you?)
You of all people should never feel bad about your poetry. Ever.
Thanks, Deb! And thanks, Dana! Yes, I like the hooting. No one ever hoots at me during just regular life. I find I sort of like it. Would you follow me around and just hoot a bit whenever I achieve a minor accomplishment, such as pouring a cup of coffee without spilling it? I'll tip!
Who knows where to download XRumer 5.0 Palladium?
